Whether you’re an experienced ‘Glamper’ or ‘Podder’ or you’re brand new to it, you should also know about one of Ireland’s best kept secrets: the town of Portumna in South East Galway, with its Castle, Abbey, historic Workhouse and Forest park, the River Shannon and Lough Derg, and a great range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Our ‘Pods’ are set in a tree-lined village landscape. They are charming, very comfortable and functional. They make a great daytime base, and can sleep up to five, and each fully insulated Pod comes with mattresses, power and heating, and its deck area, complete with table and chairs.

Bell Tent
A Bell Tent is a canvas, cone shaped tent supported by a central pole. Our three: Asia, Arabia and Vintage, are raised off the ground and fixed to a decking. Each Bell Tent sleeps a family or group of friends up to six and are ideal for those who prefer the more traditional glamping adventure.

Shepherds Hut
The Shepherd's hut was originally used in the 19th/20th Century by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing. Our Hut is specifically for relaxing! It comfortably sleeps 2 and comes with double bed, wall lighting, electric socket, electric oil heater, its own raised decking area.

At Pod Umna Village we also offer Bed & Breakfast in our main building. We offer self catering accommodation but a "Farm Fresh Pod Breakfast Hamper" can be purchased for €19, it includes Coffee/Tea, Home Baked Brown Bread, Fresh Organic Eggs from our chickens and a selection of Home Made jams.
